About Ollie
Who We Are
Ollie is a highly specialized, multi-disciplinary perinatal loss support platform and virtual clinic designed to provide therapeutic and medical education, services, and support just in time, as birthing people and families are experiencing perinatal loss. Our therapeutic and medical strategy is guided by our core belief that, for most birthing people, perinatal loss is child loss. The platform is best described as a guided Masterclass or Ted Talk series integrated with a coaching app focused on the key medical and therapeutic activities, written materials, and personal support needed to thrive again after perinatal loss.
Perinatal loss has long been a taboo topic to discuss in our society and the exam room. It is often thought of as too sad or painful to think about much less talk about. This creates isolation that only magnifies the pain and barriers to care. Shattering the silence of perinatal loss to improve pregnancy and bereavement outcomes is a central goal of the Ollie platform.
A recent study on miscarriage found 94% of parents identified themselves as grieving parents more than 5 years after their miscarriage. We accept that our families are no longer the same after their precious child’s passing and we seek to serve the entire family with psychotherapeutic and medical education, support, and services tailored to their unique experience whether miscarriage, infant loss, tfmr, stillbirth or other perinatal loss.
Because we believe perinatal loss is, for most families, child loss, we advocate for thorough medical investigation of all causes of perinatal loss and comprehensive grief support from the moment of the loss. Our education and support video modules and virtual clinic services are led by a cutting-edge team of specialized providers in maternal fetal medicine, perinatal pathology, fertility, reproductive immunology, endometriosis, PCOS, psychiatric, therapeutic, and specialized OBGYN providers tailored to each individual case. A large portion of the improvements in perinatal loss prevention and care comes from outside the United States and we comb research and clinical practice across the globe to bring our users and patients cutting edge interventions and testing recommendations.
Our grief support and medical education video modules are delivered to birthing people and families in the immediacy of their loss and the delivery is customized to the type, timing, and nature of their loss. Ollie celebrates that the greatest resource grieving mothers have is one another, and we highlight grieving mothers’ stories throughout our video modules as visible signs that surviving and moving forward after child loss is possible. Stories are also tailored to loss stage and common issues faced post loss.
We know that perinatal loss is often a make or break moment for marriages and we surround our patients with specialized education and therapy designed to create connection out of the unique, and often gendered differences that define how partners grieve. We also have modules dedicated to finding support for your living child(ren) and ways to share the heartbreaking news in a way specific to your child’s stage of development and your family’s beliefs.
We partner with birthing people and families as they begin to envision life after loss whether that is pregnancy after loss, a career change, or learning to parent their child who passed. Grief doesn’t end when another child is born living. We partner with parents through the trajectory of their grief many years after their child passed. Every perinatal loss is a transformational experience in the lives of birthing people, and their families and we are honored to partner with them on this journey.
